Letra e tradução: Give It Up!

Atendendo a pedidos, posto a letra, a tradução e o áudio da música Give It Up, primeira faixa do álbum Rest Crusaders!

Give It Up

Let's talk about with me
"Friday, I'm in love"
The best forever

Let's sing along "Blue Monday"
That's the one
We dance together

Same old games
Playing again
All those days
Since you left me behind

But I wanna break
There's no way
(To) hesitate

Never
Give it up!
Give it up!
Never
Give it up!
Wow!

Take another chances
While I'm singing "Blue Monday"

Desista

Vamos falar comigo
"Friday, I'm in love"
A melhor para sempre

Vamos cantar juntos "Blue Monday"
Essa é aquela que
Nós dançamos juntos

Os mesmos velhos jogos
Jogando novamente
Todos aqueles dias
Desde que você me deixou para trás

Mas eu quero quebrar
Não há maneira
(De) hesitar

Nunca
Desista!
Desista!
Nunca
Desista!
Wow!

Dê mais uma chance
Enquanto eu estou cantando "Blue Monday"

Hidaka mostra o rosto!

Veja as fotos!

Last Sunday, Hidaka launched his official "solo" website, and showed his face! Despite the sunglasses, you can see the real face of the lead singer of Beat Crusaders. Hidaka is very stylish! Check out the photos!

Hidaka's site is full of contents: biography, discography, live schedule, weekly news and his personal blog, and, of course, his Twitter, where he writes several times a day. And speaking of news, Hidaka is full of them!

Hidaka is working on the manga The Rocka Feller Skank that will be published by the magazine Monthly Shonen Champion as a "musical comics". The differential of RFS is exactly this: as you read, you can hear the songs from the story! That's right! There will be QR codes (barcodes for mobile phones) on the pages to scan with the cellphone and then play the music, in the middle of the story! There's a music "trailer" available here.

Also, Hidaka will perform live at Countdown Japan 2010-2011, a festival of japanese bands that every new year's eve happens in Japan. Beat Crusaders played on the event for several times, but this will be Hidaka's first time solo, entertaining the japanese crowd on New Year's Eve. Further information here.

Continuing the tour Okashina Futari, Isobe Masafumi and Hidaka will perform live at Tower Records in Shibuya, Tokyo, on November 5th. More information here.

Review: Rest Crusaders

Recebi o Rest Crusaders e o Lust Crusaders no dia do lançamento, no dia 6 de outubro. Abaixo, faço primeiro a review de Rest Crusaders!

I got Rest Crusaders and Lust Crusaders on the day of the release, on October 6th. Below, first, the review on Rest Crusaders album!

Give It Up, a música encore do festival de verão Otodama, dá início ao álbum. Give It Up reflete o mais puro espírito pop punk do quinteto.

As letras fazem referência às músicas "Friday, I´m in Love", da banda The Cure ("Let's talk about with me, "Friday, I'm in love", the best forever"), e "Blue Monday", do New Order ("Let's sing along "Blue Monday", that's the one we dance together"), que são, provavelmente, algumas das favoritas do vocalista Hidaka. O refrão "Never give it up" (nunca desista) é, possivelmente, uma última mensagem otimista aos fãs órfãos da banda. Give It Up foi tocada pela primeira e última vez, ao vivo, no dia 4 de setembro, no último show da banda no Otodama, em Osaka, no primeiro encore, após o público gritar おまんこ (omanko), que funcionou como um "bis".

Rest Crusaders is the last album that DefSTAR label releases and it is available in two versions, the regular and the limited versions. The limited edition comes with 2 CDs, one of them with 5 new songs (3 of them unreleased) and a selection with their best songs, and the other CD comes with tracks from splits, compilations and songs played with another artists. Me, as a maniac fan of BECR, bought this version, of course!

Give It  Up, the encore song of Otodama´s summer festival, starts the album. Fast beats and chords with Hidaka´s agile vocal, Give It Up, without any doubt, is the best proof that BECR should not end. While some bands completely changes their sounds over the years, Beat Crusaders remained solid and faithful to their roots during 13 years. There wasn´t a bad album, not even a song that escaped from the style they always played. Beat Crusaders, of course, still had so much to add to the current musical scene which gets more homogeneous and uncreative artists. Give It Up reflects the most pure pop punk spirit of the quintet. The drums and the keyboard couldn´t be better and take all the credit on this track.

Give It Up is an amazing track, delicious to eat with the ears, on highest volume. Give It Up´s energy is just perfect to start the day or simply to jump, dance and have some fun. Taro sings the bridge of this track, making it even more sublime. The lyrics makes references to the songs "Friday, I´m in love", by The Cure  ("Let's talk about with me, "Friday, I'm in love", the best forever"), and "Blue Monday", by New Order ("Let's sing along "Blue Monday", that's the one we dance together"), which are, probably, some of Hidaka´s favorites. The chorus "Never give it up" is, possibly, a last optimistic message to all their orphans fans. Give It Up was played live for the first and last time on September 4th, on Otodama, in Osaka, as the first encore song, after the audience shouted おまんこ (omanko) over and over.

Next, Situation and Let It Go, both new on the selection of tracks for an album of the band. Situation has been released as a DVD single, and Let It Go was their 12th single. Satanic Saints, another totally new song, comes next. A little bit different from the other tracks, Satanic Saints is slower, but heavy. Hidaka´s vocals are more melodical and calms, Taro´s guitar a lot more "metal" and Keitaimo´s keyboard adds the finishing touch to it.

Rap and rock mixes up with the caracteristic humor of them on Acid-color Zoo, a song by the duo Mike T (Taro) and Mashirokku (Mashita), an obvious reference to the north-american hip-hop trio The Beastie Boys (Mike D and Ad-Rock, respectively). Although Acid-color Zoo and Satanic Saints are a bit different from the other songs, there is the "trademark" of the quintet in the notes, rhythm and lyrics. As I said earlier on this review, BECR is a solid band, who never managed to escape from their own musical style. The personality of the group is so strong that even themselves can come off it, even in their solo careers. It is very easy to recognize a BECR´s song, even without Hidaka´s voice, which proves that Beat Crusaders is one of the only bands that are not limited to the vocalist. Check out the CD 2 songs of Rest Crusaders and will know what I mean!

Destaque para as incríveis I Wanna Go To The Disko, Everybody Hates My Guitar Sound (ambas do single Tonight Tonight Tonight), Other Side of the Wall (do single Day After Day/Solitaire), Supercollider, B.A.D. (ambas do single Hit in the USA), Sensation (do single Sensasion) e Girl Friday (do single homônimo).

Windom, Siberian Giant e Sail On! Hail On! estão em versões remasterizadas (dos singles Day After Day/Solitaire e Feel, respectivamente).

Destaque para Fool Groove (do split Booootsy, com o Your Song is Good), Droog in a Slum (do split Cell No.9, com o Tropical Gorilla), Fairy Tale (do split Night on the Planet, com o Asparagus), Wo Ai Ni (do single de Hitomi Takahashi e da trilha sonora de Pretty in Pink Flamingo), I Wanna Be a Dreammaker (do tributo ao Not Rebound), Thundestruck (do tributo ao AC/DC), Nice Day (do single homônimo) e By Chance (do tributo ao Husking Bee).

From track 6, Rest Crusaders got some of their best b-sides that were "hidden" in singles, splits and limited-edition albums. You should listen to I Want to Go To The Disko, Everybody Hates My Guitar Sound (both from the single Tonight Tonight Tonight), Other Side of the Wall (from the single Day After Day / Solitaire), Supercollider, BAD (both  from the single Hit in the USA), Sensation (from the single with the same name) and Girl Friday (from the single with the same name).

Some of the tracks are in different versions. Say Good-Night (originally as a bonus track of the Pop On Arrival limited edition album) is longer at the beginning and Follow Me (from Girl Friday single) has a much longer shutdown. Windom, Siberian Giant and Sail On! Hail On! are in remastered versions (from the singles Day After Day / Solitaire and Feel, respectively).

The Rest Crusaders CD 2 has 19 songs "tribute", which are nothing more than tracks of compilations, splits and played with other artists. You cannot miss Fool Groove (from the split Booootsy, with Your Song Is Good), Droog In A Slum (from the split Cell No.9, with Tropical Gorilla), Fairy Tale (from the split Night on the Planet, with Asparagus) Wo Ai Ni (Hitomi Takahashi's single and also from the Pretty in Pink Flamingo soundtrack), I Wanna Be a Dreammaker (tribute to Not Rebound), Thundestruck (tribute to AC / DC), Nice Day (from the single with Ryukuydisko) and By Chance (tribute to the Husking Bee).

The CD artwork is very cute: all checkered! The retro style seems to have been inspired by the songs Give It Up and Situation, which remembers and refers to the 80´s and 90´s. The CD cover shows their real masks, and on the back cover, the "back" of the masks, where you can see the holes in the eyes and in the mouth, and even the rubber bands that holds it on their heads.

Everyone who buys the Rest Crusaders album on Tower Records, gets very cute stickers!

Rest Crusaders is an excellent album, a "must item" for any fan of the band. Listen to it brings feelings of nostalgia, sadness and, in some cases, may even make you cry a river. However, overcoming the loss, it also brings you joy and lots of moments of fun. The album could be full of new songs, which would make the fans a lot happier. But the fact is that Hidaka, Taro, Kubota, Keitaimo and Mashita are tired (that´s why the "rest" on the title); however, it is also a fact that is such a waste a really good band breaking up so early. Beat Crusaders always had great potential and differs from others by their supreme creativity and style. An irreparable loss for the japanese music scene and for the fans around the world.
